Surety Claims Examiner/Adjuster Independent Contractors – Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina

DESCRIPTION

Functioning similarly to a property adjuster, the surety claims examiner/property inspector investigates claims, physically examining problem-stalled-delayed construction projects in the assigned territory, reviewing contracts, assessing deficiencies, analyzing fault/responsibility, and estimating repair costs. The right individuals for this work are not only knowledgeable about construction but are also highly organized, efficient, pleasant, and meticulous with notes, process, and follow-up. These positions make recommendations internally and externally for fair and expeditious bond claim resolution but do not authorize or render settlements independently.

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge of the claims process

Knowledge of property and the common practices and techniques utilized in the construction process, especially residential renovations and remodels

Familiarity with insurance and/or surety claims handling, client contact, investigation techniques, costs and estimating, contracting practices, local codes, etc.

Ability to assess completion status and identify issues with timelines and workmanship

Diligent with follow-up and documentation; great record-keeper of notes, visual evidence, correspondence, etc.

Eye for detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Solid reporting, math, and office software skills

Demonstrated track record of diligent, professional service

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
